First and foremost get your crafting done right up front so you can carry more health syringes, ammo and weapons...otherwise you will struggle
Turn on the towers early for weapons and clear pirate camps to enhance your skills...
These things are essential to success and will make yoyur progess much easier and faster on the hardest setting..
