DCS A10C Tips and Tricks / Maverick AGM 65 Guide Rev 0
« on: March 02, 2011, 10:43:07 PM »
Hey Guys Help me test this.

Maverick AGM Set Up
DCS A10-C Warthog
Rev 0
This cheat sheet is from the notes I took from the Maverick AGM 65 Tutorial Videos Part 1, 2 & 3.
This is a first pass and is a work in progress. I haven?t even tested it yet.
I am certain there are some errors and some parts might be vague. I will edit for clarity and correctness when I learn what those discrepancies and nuances are.
If you use this guide and note discrepancies please edit and upload to the forum as the latest version. Your help to make this better would be appreciated and help accelerate the learning curve.

Uh that xray pic is not quite what I had in mind

Here's a simple SP/MP training mission for practicing Aerial Refueling. There are two KC-135 tankers flying a box pattern between Batumi (where you take off) and Sukhumi, one on each corner of the box so even if you join late, one should be nearby when you take off. They are stationed at two different altitudes. Room for 8 clients and a player slot with varied loadouts(most are inert rounds and fuel tanks..combat is not part of this mission, just tanking with varied loads)... We had 5-6 in it most of last night with just the one tanker and it was a blast. Added the second tanker on a diff freq and a few more client slots (including the SP player) and it looks ok. I'm new with this editor stuff so be gentle..

Note: The tankers are reachable by radio by all clients, but Tacan for the tankers only seems to work for the host (is ED gonna fix that hopefully?)

Hope this makes practicing this a little easier. Enjoy !

p.s. - My noob advice so far... DONT FOLLOW THE BOOM !! Stay level on the alt you settle on and slide forward at no more then 1-2 knots closure til the boom is filling your hud, then ease up to 0 closure and just inch it forward til it contacts. The boom will come to you if you are within reach and level. I aim for just below the wings on the boom when it's extended for a flight level and then focus on keeping the bubble on the horizon line and my line up on the tanker and then move forward ever so gently...

Would love to hear what SOP is from the real hog pilots, including handling formations for multiple planes waiting to tank. We were lining up on it's right side last night to queue up, and then moving left when finished at someone's suggestion for lack of a better system..

DCS A10C Discussion / DCS A-10C Lightening Pod and JDAM Tutorials
« on: March 01, 2011, 11:55:01 PM »
Here is a link for tutorial videos for the targeting Pod and using JDAMs.

Just because I am posting this stuff does not in anyway mean I know squat about it or can use it yet.

Attached Radio Tutorial & 2 Ramp Start Check lists One was for Beta 4, I doubt much has changed. Looks pretty handy, since it has graphical depictions of where everything is.  Other is for final release and has much more valuable info such as explaining Countermeasures controls.

Radio Tutorial is about impossible to print out as it is has such heavy formatting. Keep on the look out for another.
The PowerPoint Version did print out but it is also format heavy. Cannot upload .ppt files to this forum so here is the Power Point version Link:

Have also added a Mission Data Card. This could be handy to record at least what the radio settings are for the individual missions

I know where all the switches are but after only a few days training it is easy to forget something. This should help.
At quick glance, The only thing I noticed different is for Engine Start is R Cntrl Home and R Alt Home. Engine stop (not on this check list) is R Cntrl End and R Alt End. Heh I think thats right.

One thing about the Ramp start, it gets you immersed into the SIM!

LOL!  Good deal. I watched the video for using Mavericks three times. Making a check list. Will also make a check list for engine start up.

Videos link for Mavericks below, Thanks Backbiter!

Check screenshot for blown nose wheel. Nice detail and modelling Landed to fast and laying on the brakes.  I did stop in time but forgot to engage nosewheel steering and ran off pavement. If you run off pavement you are not going any where.

General Discussion / Who is Jack Schitt?
« on: February 12, 2007, 05:31:21 PM »
For some time many of us have wondered just who is Jack Schitt? We
find ourselves at a loss when someone says, 'You don't know Jack
Well, thanks to a friends genealogy efforts, you can now respond in
knowledgeable way....

Jack Schitt is the only son of Awe Schitt. Awe Schitt, the fertilizer
magnate, married O. Schitt, the owner of Needeep N. Schitt, Inc.
They had one son, Jack.

In turn, Jack Schitt married Noe Schitt. The deeply religious couple
produced six children: Holie Schitt, Giva Schitt, Fulla Schitt, Bull
and the twins Deep Schitt and Dip Schitt.

Against her parents' obj ections, Deep Schitt married Dumb Schitt,
a High school dropout. After being married 15 years, Jack and
Noe Schitt divorced. Noe Schitt later married Ted Sherlock, and
because her kids were living with them, she wanted to keep her
previous name. She was then known as Noe Schitt Sherlock.

Meanwhile, Dip Schitt married Loda Schitt, and they produced a
son with a rather nervous disposition named Chicken Schitt. Two
of the other six children, Fulla Schitt and Giva Schitt, were
throughout childhood and subsequently married the Happens brothers
in a dual ceremony. The wedding announcement in the newspaper
announced the Schitt-Happens nuptials. The Schitt-Happens children
were Dawg, Byrd, and Horse.

Bull Schitt, the prodigal son, left home to tour the world. He
returned from Italy with his new Italian bride, Pisa Schitt.

Now when someone says, 'You don't know Jack Schitt,' you can correct

Crock O. Schitt
